Warriors Way Forward Association Warrior’s Way Forward Association
💗 One dream. One truth at a time. I am a survivor of domestic violence. This is more than a nonprofit. This is a movement.

We are a survivor-led nonprofit in Edmonton, Alberta, dedicated to helping women and children escape and heal from domestic violence. Why I Created Warrior’s Way Forward Association

I started this organization because no one should ever have to fight for safety alone. I fled with my child after years of trauma, homelessness, and system failures. I was told to “just leave” — but no one tells you w

hat to do when the shelters are full, the police can’t help, and the people who are supposed to protect you look the other way. I built Warrior’s Way Forward because I lived through the gaps that so many women fall through — and I promised myself that if I made it out, I’d make sure no one else had to face this journey without support. We’re here for the late-night escapes. The empty wallets. The courtrooms. The survivors. The children. The ones who never made it out. We walk in memory of Erin. Of Aylissa. And so many others.

**“If you’re in it right now… I need you to hear this.
You are not too much.
You are not hard to love.
You are not the problem.
No amount of loving them harder will make them treat you right.
Leaving is scary… but staying will cost you yourself.
And you deserve so much more than survival.”**

Two years ago, I fled domestic violence.

I remember what it felt like to reach out for help… and realize that help wasn’t always there. Shelters were full. Supports were stretched thin. Systems that were supposed to protect me felt impossible to navigate.

Today—two years later—I wish I could say things have changed.

But they haven’t.

In 2025, 148 women were murdered across Canada.
13 of those women were from Alberta.

Those aren’t just numbers.
Those are lives. Families. Children left behind.

I’ve sat across from the Minister for the Status of Women. I’ve heard about the “plan” to end gender-based violence.

But what does a plan mean when women are still being turned away?
When shelters are still at capacity?
When survivors are still forced to choose between staying in danger or having nowhere to go?

Because that’s still happening.
Right here in Edmonton.
Every single day.

Two years later, I am still hearing the same stories I lived through.

We cannot keep saying we care about women while failing them in their most critical moment.

We cannot keep talking about long-term strategies while women need safety tonight.

We need action.
We need accountability.
We need systems that actually work when a woman reaches out for help.

Because this isn’t just a gap in the system—

It’s a matter of life and death.

The RCMP launched the national High Risk Child S*x Offender Database, the first publicly accessible tool of its kind in Canada.

The Database is another tool that will help investigate and prevent crimes against children of a sexual nature. It also helps the public get informed and make decisions when it comes to protecting children and vulnerable individuals.

“Protecting children from sexual offenses and exploitation is a responsibility we all share and is a priority for the RCMP.” – Mike Duheme, Commissioner, Royal Canadian Mounted Police

💜✨ Shout Out to Empowering Phoenixes ✨💜

I want to take a moment to give a super heartfelt thank you to Empowering Phoenixes for all of their incredible help and support with the T-shirts, decals, and stickers for our upcoming event. Not only have they poured their talent and creativity into helping us, but they’ve also stepped up to volunteer their time to stand beside me in raising awareness for the ever-growing epidemic of domestic violence.

I feel so blessed to have crossed paths with these amazing women — women who continue to stand their ground and advocate for others even while climbing their own uphill battles. Their resilience, strength, and determination truly embody what it means to be a warrior.

I couldn’t be more honored to fight alongside such powerful, compassionate, and inspiring women. Thank you, Empowering Phoenixes, for showing the world what true courage looks like. 🕊️🔥💪

Too many families in B.C. have been torn apart by intimate partner violence, and our justice system has failed them for far too long.

That’s why I’m proud to support a new federal Conservative bill that makes intimate partner murder a first-degree crime - sending a clear message that if you take the life of your spouse or partner, you will face the harshest penalty under the law.

Families deserve peace of mind that the system is protecting them, not waiting until tragedy strikes. This legislation is a step toward accountability, safety, and justice for victims.
