The Wîhkwêntôwin Community League is 100% volunteer driven by people who live and work in Wîhkwêntôwin.

Promotes the involvement of the residents of Wîhkwêntôwin through participation in healthy recreational, social and environmental activities. Edmonton (109 Street-124th Street & the River Valley to 104 Ave). You can get memberships online at: https://www.wclyeg.com/join-or-renew/

Cost: Free for individuals, families and Institutional Associate Membership

Current membership benefits:

* OCL participating in the City of Edmonton’s Community League Swim Program. Show your valid WCL membership at Jasper Place Recreation Centre Saturdays from 5 to 7:00 p.m. or Commonwealth Community Recreation Centre Sundays from 1-3 and swim for free.

* Membership in the Edmonton Tool Library

* 20% discount on annual and continuous monthly memberships at City of Edmonton recreation facilities

* Free skating at the Downtown Community Rink during designated times (not currently available)

* Free Skating at any Outdoor Community League Rink (show your skate tags!)

* Edmonton Federation of Community Leagues (EFCL) membership benefits

Tomorrow we honour the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation by remembering the history and lasting impacts of the residential school system. This day is a reminder to listen, reflect, and learn, and to recognize the work that remains on the path toward reconciliation.

A number of events are taking place across the city to honour this important day. We encourage our friends and neighbours to participate, listen, learn, and reflect.

The first of September’s guided Tai Chi classes is just two days away!

These sessions will lead you through ten Tai Chi forms that can be learned in a single session. Perfect for new students learning Tai Chi for the first time as well as experienced students looking to deepen their understanding and build confidence through regular practice.

WCL’s Annual Community Yard Sale & BBQ is just over two weeks away!

This free, family-friendly event takes place on Edmonton’s Community League Day. Whether you’re searching for that good find, craving some great food and entertainment, or just looking for a fun day in the community, you won’t want to miss it.

🔸September 19 is Community League Day. Join your friends and neighbours at Kitchener Park for WCL’s Annual Yard Sale and BBQ!
🔸Every Sunday this month, WCL members enjoy an hour of free indoor skating at the Downtown Community Arena, and two hours of free swimming at the Commonwealth Recreation Centre starting September 13.
🔸After a brief pause in August, Book Club is back. This month we’ll be reading Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin.
