As camping season officially kicks off, we want to celebrate the unseen hustle keeping our favourite spaces clean. ⛺♻️ Over the long weekend, many independent Depot operators went the extra mile (literally!) traveling long distances to collect empties from campground bins — so recycling is hassle-free while you're off the grid.

Meet the new faces of Mundare Bottle Depot: Daljit and Sukhvir! 👋

While they officially took over operations on April 30th, these guys definitely aren’t new to the biz. They've been involved in the industry for over a decade, working alongside their dads at other Depots.

Now, they’re bringing all that experience and a whole lot of hustle to Mundare. And when we say hustle — we mean it. These two are already earning a reputation in town for their speed of service! ⚡They’re also working hard to keep the Depot clean, organized, and friendly.

Daljit and Sukhvir are the perfect example of what Alberta Depots are all about: local, independent operators who truly care about the communities they serve.

In Alberta, team sports run on empties. ⚽🥎🏐🏈

From early mornings and packed carpools, to snacks on the sidelines and weekends on the road, youth sports rely on the time and energy of parents, coaches, and volunteers.

Bottle drives play a big role in easing the financial pressure — offsetting registration, jerseys, and tournament fees so families can focus a little more on the game.

This Earth Day is a reminder that it's easy to show some love to your local neighbourhood, city, or highway by participating in a spring cleanup program! 🌎🫶

A perfect example is the Green Deer initiative hosted by the Kerry Wood Nature Centre. They provide all the supplies and support needed to “leave it better than you found it.”

Find your local program, register, and remember to set aside beverage containers along the way to donate or cash in. Happy spring cleaning! 🍃

35 years of hard work, family, and community. 💚

Huge congratulations to the Kullar family on an incredible milestone! Since opening Bowness Bottle Depot on April 11, 1991, they’ve transformed what was once a small, crowded space into a thriving hub built on grit and genuine care.

As a kid, Dilnaj (the current operator of the Depot) spent his summers working alongside his dad and uncle — learning the business, putting in the effort, and building something meaningful together. 💪 Those early years weren’t easy, but they laid the foundation for everything that followed.

Today, that legacy continues. The Depot is a true reflection of the people behind it — a welcoming space where neighbours from all walks of life connect. That industrious spirit also shines through their community heart, having raised over $25,000 for the “Cans for Kids” initiative.

Thank you to the Kullar family for your 35 years of dedication, resilience, and service to the Bowness neighbourhood. Cheers to many more! 🎉
