And with that Voila! Quebec has ended!

I was lucky enough to spend the first few days at this camp and had a blast meeting youth members, leaders and camp volunteers at Camp Peaceful Waters! Did you know Camp Peaceful Waters is celebrating 100 years this year?

So many great memories were made:
🥾 Sunrise hike at the Bluff
🔍 Running a scavenger hunt activity (interpretive dancing is always fun)

So, I’m the Guiding Ambassador. What the heck does that mean, anyway? Let’s break it down!

The Guiding Ambassador's role is to represent Guiding, both within and outside of the organization. My primary goal is to listen to the voices of youth members and volunteers, and elevate your stories!

I often attend events around the country, meeting new people and learning about their experiences. I also get to talk to people outside of Guiding and share all those great stories and impact that Guiding has on our members.

I'm going to be breaking down the role of the Board of Directors over the next few weeks, and hopefully answer any questions you may have about what we do! Let me know if there's any pressing questions you'd like me to answer!

One thing I hear a lot from former Girl Guides is this:

“Is Girl Guides the same as when I was a kid?”

And I always say, yes! But also, no!

Yes: Girl Guides is still, and will always be, a place where girls can build confidence and leadership skills, make new friends and try all kinds of cool new activities.

No: Some things are different now, and that’s okay! Girl Guides is more inclusive than ever, and some of the activities we do reflect the needs of the modern girl.

We’re not the same as we were in 1996, or in 1926. But we’re always going to be exactly what the girls and youth of today need 💙 that’s what I believe, anyway.

Discover 2026 was an absolute blast! A week of fun activities, outdoor adventures and making friendships to last a lifetime!

Highlights for me were meeting so many Pathfinders and Rangers who wanted to learn more about being Guiding Ambassador (exciting!!), tuck shop cashier responsibilities (prices that can’t be beat!) and getting rained on (thank you Nova Scotia weather!)

Huge thank you to our Core Crew, Patrol Guiders and youth members for an amazing camp!

When I tell people about my involvement in Girl Guides, they always ask about one thing: cookies!

But they don’t realize the breadth of everything we do! So tell me: what’s the one thing people are always surprised to learn about Girl Guides?

For me, it’s that we get to travel internationally! People are always shocked when I tell them about trips to London or Switzerland to visit Pax Lodge or Our Chalet.

This Guiding year has been one for the books!

Thank you to all our members for showing up, trying new things and being their true, authentic selves. You are what makes this movement special.

What a journey it was as Guiding Ambassador on the WAGGGS Stage! My role at the World Conference was a little different than the rest of the Canadian delegation. I served as the Lead Facilitator of the Get Ready for World Conference event, powered by OBPS. This special pre-event let young members dive into leadership and governance to help them get the most out of the conference ahead

I also got to run a session all about Meaningful Youth Participation (throwback to my National Youth Council days!) and support the International Service Team with tasks along the way.

International events such as these serve as reminders that Guiding is global and we have a sisterhood and community that reaches all around the world. From meeting new friends, to leading sessions to celebrating Cambodian culture - these memories will last a lifetime!

Thank you to World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts, The Olave Baden-Powell Society (OB-PS) and Girl Guides Association of Cambodia for this amazing experience!
