Hey Guiders! Are you planning an advancement or badge ceremony for this spring?

Let’s talk ideas and themes that make these meetings extra-special for the girls!

Some of my favourites that I’ve seen: an Under the Sea theme with aquatic decorations, a Glow in the Dark theme with black lights, and an Outer Space theme where girls flew in a cardboard spaceship! 👽🛸

But my favourite is always the classic ceremony where we celebrate with a sweet treat (maybe Girl Guide cookies) and spend time together doing something fun.

Drop some of your favourites in the comments below – pics always welcome!

I’m feeling so grateful for the warm welcome I’ve received in this role so far 💙

From meeting members in person to hearing your stories online, every interaction has reminded me just how special the Guiding community is and how grateful I am to have been a part of it for so long!

I’m so excited for all the connections and experiences still to come!

Let's rally! 📣🎉

This past weekend, board members Sheliza and Helen (hey, I recognize that face!) visited the Rally Day events in Alberta. They got to connect with members from across the Council, grab some sweet SWAPS, and make me jealous by posing with mascots! That's so cool!

If we made an official Girl Guides Canada mascot, what do you think it should be?

Wait… how is the Guiding year almost over already?! I just got here 😅

I know a lot of you are getting ready for year-end celebrations, so here’s a little reminder: you can invite a board member to be part of it!

Whether it’s a quick video message, a virtual drop-in, or even an in-person visit (when possible), we’d love to help celebrate everything you’ve accomplished this year 💙

You can request a board message here: https://bit.ly/4toSgJm

Let’s make those end-of-year moments extra special ✨

Girl Guide volunteers are community builders, and the impact they make lasts a lifetime.

Thank you to every volunteer who sparks connections that matter — in your community and across the country!

Get a load of this beauty 😍 the new, five-piece board crest… and now’s your chance to earn a piece of it!

Comment below with your favourite Guiding memory, and you’re entered for a chance to win part of this exclusive crest! Winners will be announced next week.

And if you want to get all five pieces… well, you’ll have to stay connected! Board members are giving them out at events, camps, year end celebrations and more. Gotta catch us all!

Just a 🇨🇦 girl travelling the 🌎.

I’m so lucky to have been able to travel for Guiding, as well as my work outside of it! And I’m excited to add another destination to the list this summer… can you guess where I’m headed?

What’s been your favourite travel experience with Girl Guides?

04/03/2026

I feel like I’ve been sharing a lot about me lately… so let’s flip it 💙 I want to get to know you!

Tell me:
✨ Where are you in Canada?
✨ How long have you been part of Guiding?
✨ Favourite branch (then or now!)
✨ And dream big — what would you love to see Guiding become?

I’ll go first 👇

I’m based in Ontario, I’ve been in Guiding since I was 6 years old, my favourite branch was Guides, and I’d love to see Girl Guides grow into the space where everybody is a Girl Guide.

Your turn! And yes, I’m reading every comment 👀

So, who is this new girl, anyway?

Here are some fun facts about me!

💙 This year will be my 20th year in Guiding! Crazy how time flies!
💙 I was able to be part of the first ever cohort for the National Youth Council.
💙 I've been lucky enough to travel to three different countries with Girl Guides, and have many Guiding friends around the world!
💙 I love collecting crests from different events... who doesn't!
💙 I am a Robotics Engineer, studying Social Robotics in school right now. If you want to nerd out about robots, I'm your girl!

Anything you want to know about me, ask away! I'm an open book and will be happy to answer any of your questions about my Guiding journey.

I'm so proud of Sara, who had the amazing opportunity to represent Girl Guides of Canada at the Helen Storrow Seminar in Switzerland! 🌍✨

This inspiring event brought young women together from all over the world to tackle environmental sustainability and share powerful ideas.

In Sara's words:
"It is difficult to fully put into words the impact that the 2026 Helen Storrow Seminar had on me because it was so profound. I have always known that Guiding is a sisterhood, but experiencing the global connection through WAGGGS made that belief feel real in a new way.

Throughout the seminar, I developed my leadership skills while deepening my understanding of how water conservation issues affect communities around the world. Through discussions, I saw how water challenges connect us globally. While each country faces unique circumstances, sharing perspectives strengthened our ability to adapt solutions within our own communities.

I left the seminar with a renewed appreciation for the Guiding sisterhood, stronger leadership skills grounded in the WAGGGS leadership mindsets, and greater confidence in facilitating brave and inclusive spaces. Most importantly, I gained a deeper understanding of the global impact of Guiding."
