Last night Words Aloud Spoken Word & Storytelling Festival presented sophie anne edwards for an intimate evening of environmental poetry at the Ginger Press Bookshop and Cafe. Her book, Conversations with the Kagawong River, is a rich and meditative look at how one person can establish dialogue with natural phenomena. sophie has training as a geographer, so she understands the fact that existence is all about relationships. Here's hoping we can all live mindful of our intersecting relationships -- with the land, water and air, but also with the rest of humanity, which relies on these for absolutely everything.
