Good day friends,

In the spirit of transparency, I have an announcement. The Church has collectively decided that they love the work we do for the community by giving youth and adults alike a welcoming place to gather and participate in a regular group activity. They have also expressed appreciation for the cleaning that is done regularly before Magic night ends. Because of this, they have graciously decided to waive our rental fee and continue to cover our insurance costs.

As you know, we have struggled with attendance. Based on the numbers, if something didn’t change soon, MITV as it is now was on track to run its course and come to an end in late December. This new information changes that. Our contract for the space has been renewed, and with the Church covering our rental and insurance, we are going to be okay.

With that being said, based on input from about a dozen people, we have decided to continue with the $3.00 cover fee for playing each Friday. Going forward, 50% of what we bring in each night will be donated back to the Church, with the remaining 50% staying with MITV for things like prizes, events, supplies, or other perks for the group. Remember my “pick a dice pack” giveaway? Things like that can happen more often.

We have also decided that, if there is enough interest, we can look at purchasing sealed product for resale directly to the group at reasonable pricing so that it is actually available here in DV.

I am always looking for feedback. My DMs are open, or you can pull me aside at Magic if you have thoughts, ideas, or suggestions.

Please know that this doesn’t change much for you as a member of MITV. Your attendance is still very important. We want this group to thrive, not just survive, and your continued attendance means we are also able to give back to the Church for everything they are doing for us.

We’re looking forward to using this change to bring more benefits to showing up each Friday, while continuing to grow the group and bring more friends into Magic.
