Canadian Baloch Congress (CBC) strongly condemns the targeted killing of Baloch scholar, poet, and intellectual Ghamkhwar Hayat in Nushki by Pakistani state-backed death squads.

We extend our deepest condolences to his family and call on the international community, including the Government of Canada and all defenders of human rights, to urgently address the ongoing human rights violations in Balochistan.

The enforced disappearance of the Vice Chancellor and Pro Vice Chancellor of the University of Gwadar has further intensified fear among educators, writers, and intellectuals across Balochistan, where independent voices continue to face intimidation, repression, and violence.
