🥾 MILES FOR A MISSION — EVERY STEP HAS A PURPOSE
400 kilometres. One backpack. One mission. ❤️
Brianna Sturgeon is taking on a challenge that is, admittedly, as she says, a little insane: She's going to walk approximately 400 km across Ontario to raise awareness and funds for people affected by Transverse Myelitis (TM).
Transverse Myelitis is a rare neurological disorder involving inflammation of the spinal cord. It can cause symptoms including pain, numbness, muscle weakness, difficulty walking, and even paralysis. For some people, the effects can be life-changing.
People Brianna loves have been affected by Transverse Myelitis, and while she won’t share their private medical stories, their experiences have shown her just how much this condition can change a person’s life.
So she decided to do something about it.
🥾 It's called Miles for a Mission.
She will be carrying her gear, camping along the way, facing whatever weather and exhaustion comes with the journey, and putting one foot in front of the other for approximately 400 kilometres.
Her fundraising goal is $4,000 — $1,000 for every 100 km she walks.
100 km → $1,000
200 km → $2,000
300 km → $3,000
400 km → $4,000
❤️ 100% of the funds raised through this fundraiser will go directly to the Canadian Transverse Myelitis Association (CTMA) to support our work for people affected by Transverse Myelitis.
But this isn’t only about raising money.
It’s about raising awareness.
Brianna Sturgeon wants more people to know the name Transverse Myelitis. She wants people living with TM and their families to know they aren’t forgotten, and she wants to help support the work being done toward better understanding, research, and support.
