A Historic Day for Marathon!

Today marks a defining milestone for our community with the announcement of $37.5 million in funding through the Building Canada Strong program for the Marathon Active Living Centre.

The investment was announced by the Honourable Patty Hajdu, Member of Parliament for Thunder Bay—Superior North, and represents a significant federal commitment to Marathon and the future of Northwestern Ontario.

The Marathon Active Living Centre will become a vibrant gathering place that promotes recreation, wellness, inclusion, and community connection for residents and visitors alike. This investment is a significant step toward building a stronger and healthier Marathon for generations to come.

Thank you to Minister Hajdu, our funding partners, project team, community members, and everyone who joined us to celebrate this exciting milestone.
