πŸš—πŸ”₯ Vehicle Fire Safety Reminder

If your vehicle ever catches fire, do not pull onto dry grass, brush, or the shoulder where vegetation is present. A burning vehicle can quickly ignite surrounding fuels and start a wildfire in seconds.

If it is safe to do so:
βœ… Pull over on pavement or a gravel area away from vegetation.
βœ… Turn off the engine.
βœ… Get everyone out of the vehicle immediately.
βœ… Move a safe distance away and call 911.

A vehicle can be replaced. People and forests cannot.

Stay alert, stay safe, and help prevent wildfires this season. πŸŒ²πŸš’

So it begins...

The start of wildfire misinformation season is here.

As temperatures rise this summer and more wildfires ignite across B.C., the spread of misleading or false information also increases.

"As a work experience student you get to care for animals on a daily basis, see them progress, and eventually be part of their release back into nature- it's such a fulfilling reward for all your hard work. MARS is a big family, even as an international student, I felt right at home!"

Thank you, Gul, for all your hard work here at MARS. You will be truly missed! ❀️

It's incredible to witness growth in students who have not worked in rehab before. We watch them progress, gain confidence, become independent, and advocate for their education. If you are considering a career in wildlife care and rehabilitation and want to try it out, check out our work experience program and see how you can get involved!
