Bicycles for Humanity - Comox Valley

Bicycles for Humanity - Comox Valley Bicycles for Humanity is a non-profit organization that collects bikes to send to developing communities in nations around the world.

Our goal is simple...collect 400 to 500 fat tire bicycles, parts, and accessories and ship them to a village in Africa. Right now, the B4H Comox Valley chapter is supporting the Karamoja Bicycle Initiative, which seeks to deliver 25,000 bicycles to this remote area in north eastern Uganda over the next five years. That is roughly 50 shipping containers of bikes. The Process:
- Gather the bicycl

es, spare parts, tools, bike trailers, panniers, etc. from donors like you.
- Store the bikes until 400 to 500 are ready to be shipped.
- Purchase the shipping container ($5,000).
- Ship the container to Uganda ($12,000 to $15,000).
- Do it again! And What's Cool...
The shipping container is transformed into a Bicycle Empowerment Centre (the local bike shop) and 5-6 jobs are created as locals are trained in bicycle repair and entrepreneurship.
