It has been noticed recently at our emergency calls the increase in public attendance and the following of our emergency vehicles. We wish to advise residents of the town once again that following the emergency vehicles to an emergency scene is in no way assisting members of the department, and in fact, you are simply causing congestion at that scene for when other first responders such as ambulance and police arrive. Department members have been instructed to better secure emergency scenes and to report any individuals who may enter that scene without permission to the authorities. We will not jeopardize the privacy of those involved in emergency situations or the safety of our department members. We appreciate your understanding and your cooperation regarding this post for future emergency calls. Stay safe.

We thought it would be cool to share a little fun fact with you all. Did you know that in the past fourteen days our members have responded to eleven emergency calls. We may not be upfront and center at all town’s events but please know as a volunteer Fire Department our members are very active members of our community. Thanks everyone for your continued support and as always, we love reading the positive comments.

Members are now finished at the motor vehicle collision scene. Traffic is no longer obstructed and flowing normally. Thank you for your patience and we apologize for the delay in traffic.

Members are still on scene as traffic control from a motor vehicle collision earlier this afternoon. Located on the stretch between halfway point and Cook’s Brook. Please expect traffic delays until wreckage crews clear the scene. please share.

A fire ban has been declared for the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador due to elevated Fire Weather Index ratings and extensive wildfire activity in Labrador. The ban is effective immediately until July 17.

This photo was shared in our private group and I thought it was too cute not to share with you all. Firefighter Trevor Greene had a special helper at his recent visit to our hall. I am in no way a fortune teller but let me tell you this, there is no doubt this little dude is a future member. Every Monday night this guy is in his window waving, yelling out to us and on occasion attends the meeting with daddy and when dad is away working his mommy still takes him over for a visit and tour of the trucks. Moments like this are just too precious not to share. We want to let you know little buddy that we hear you yelling and we see you wave every time ❤️
