We are pleased to announce the Emergency Department at the Clinton Public Hospital will resume 24/7 service effective June 1, 2026, at 8 a.m.

We extend our sincere appreciation to our nurses, staff, physicians, community members, local leaders, regional system partners, Ontario Health and Ministry of Health for their continued support. This collective commitment plays a vital role in strengthening and sustaining high-quality health care across the region.

We were honoured to spend time with four first-year medical students last night as part of Discovery Week, which is an opportunity for future physicians to experience life in rural communities and gain a deeper understanding of providing health care in regional settings.

Our Foundation Executive team enjoyed showing them around Clinton and Huron County, sharing dinner together, and highlighting what makes our community such a special place to live, work, and build a medical career.

Programs like Discovery Week are an important part of helping future physicians discover the opportunities, connections, and rewarding experiences that rural medicine can offer. We are proud to play a small role in helping introduce tomorrow’s doctors to our community and supporting efforts that strengthen rural health care for years to come.

One message from the students captured the evening perfectly:

“Thank you so much for a wonderful evening, for teaching us about your community, for enabling us to experience life in Clinton, and for educating us on the fruitful prospects of a rural practice. This was truly an experience to remember, and each of us will carry what we’ve learned into our future practices.”

We’d like to give a heartfelt thank you to the Brussels Optimist Club for their incredible support of our local hospitals.

On April 11, the Brussels Optimist Club hosted their Annual Dinner & Auction, bringing together community members for an evening of generosity, connection, and support. This year, a portion of proceeds from the event were shared among four local hospitals: Clinton Public Hospital, Listowel Memorial Hospital, Seaforth Community Hospital, and Wingham & District Hospital.

Last night, representatives from each Foundation were honoured to attend a cheque presentation, with $8,000 awarded to each hospital, and an incredible total of $32,000 invested in supporting local healthcare across our communities.

All four Foundations had the opportunity to attend the Dinner & Auction event and see firsthand the tremendous work, dedication, and volunteer spirit that goes into making it such a success. The Brussels Optimist Club does so much to strengthen our communities, and their commitment to supporting local healthcare is truly appreciated.

Community support makes an incredible difference. Donations like these help ensure our hospitals can continue investing in equipment, technology, and upgrades that allow us to provide the quality patient care our communities rely on every day.

On Monday, at their Annual General Meeting, the wonderful ladies of the Clinton Public Hospital Auxiliary presented the CPH Foundation with their 2026/2027 contribution of $26,600 in support of patient care equipment.

This generous gift will help fund essential patient care equipment on our 26/27 capital list, making a meaningful difference for patients and families who depend on our hospital.
