Hey Barriere - a new free community resource is now available for you! The Lending Cupboard offers a collection of food preservation equipment to borrow free of charge. You don't need to buy a bunch of expensive equipment or find storage space for it - borrow ours instead and preserve your own food! Our collection is growing so check back often for our updated list of equipment - donations welcome - please contact the program coordinator Joanna to arrange 250-674-1472 or [email protected].

Registration is now open for the May Barriere Community Kitchen session - All About Bread! Don't get held hostage by high bread prices - making your own is easier than you think! Laura will guide you in making a variety of breads, including flat breads, quick breads and yeast-risen breads. Participants must register by May 22 - please call 250-672-9773. Cost per person is $10 or only $5 if you are low-income.
