Animal rescue is exhausting.
Not just physically, but mentally and emotionally too. It becomes part of your life, every single day.
El rescate animal es agotador.
No solo físicamente, sino también mental y emocionalmente. Se convierte en parte de tu vida todos los días.

We know we can't save them all.
But we try anyway.
Every day we see the consequences of neglect, abuse, cruelty, disease, poisoning, malnutrition, abandonment, and vehicle strikes.
We see the worst that animals can endure.
Sabemos que no podemos salvarlos a todos.
Pero aun así lo intentamos.
Cada día vemos las consecuencias del abandono, el maltrato, la crueldad, las enfermedades, los envenenamientos, la desnutrición y los atropellos.

Sometimes, despite everything we do, we cannot save them.
So we hold them as they leave this world.
We comfort them, love them, and hope that in their final moments they feel the kindness they may never have known before.

Much of what we see never makes it to social media.
We protect the public from the most horrific images because they are difficult to witness.
But hiding the images does not erase the suffering.

We spend countless hours educating people about responsible pet ownership, proper nutrition, veterinary care, and prevention.
Vaccines are not the enemy.
Watching an animal suffer and die from a preventable disease is the enemy.

And yes, we will always advocate for spaying and neutering.
There is no better answer to reducing suffering, preventing unwanted litters, and helping shelters and rescues already stretched beyond their limits.
Y sí, siempre apoyaremos la esterilización y castración.
No existe una mejor solución para reducir el sufrimiento, prevenir camadas no deseadas y ayudar a los refugios y rescates que ya están al límite.

We hate asking for money.
We truly do.
But food, veterinary care, medications, transport, supplies, and emergencies all cost money.
Many of us work full-time jobs and still pour our own income into rescue.
Yet it is never enough.
Odiamos pedir dinero.
De verdad.
Pero la comida, la atención veterinaria, los medicamentos, el transporte, los suministros y las emergencias cuestan dinero.
Muchos de nosotros trabajamos a tiempo completo y aun así destinamos nuestros propios ingresos al rescate.

We need a shelter.
We need resources.
We need support.
And yes, we need donations to make those things happen.
Every time we have to say "no" because we don't have space, funding, or foster homes, it feels like a knife through the heart.

Necesitamos apoyo.
Y sí, necesitamos donaciones para hacerlo realidad.

We also need volunteers.
For EVERYTHING.
Transport. Fostering. Fundraising. Cleaning. Events. Dog walking. Social media. Administration. Community outreach.
Animal rescue cannot survive without people willing to give their time.

At the end of the day, rescue is not about us.
It's about giving animals a second chance.
It's about fighting for those who cannot speak for themselves.
It's about showing up, day after day, even when our hearts are breaking.
And it's about believing that every life matters, even when we cannot save them all.

Se trata de darles a los animales una segunda oportunidad.
Se trata de luchar por quienes no tienen voz.
Se trata de seguir adelante día tras día, incluso cuando el corazón se nos rompe.
