Give our brave charity bull riders some love as they prepare for the rides of their lives on September 12. They are all raising monies for great charities. You can check them all out and make donations at https://rvcagsociety.getcommunal.com/donate or click on their individual QR codes to take you right to their individual donation pages.
If you know of anyone else who thinks they can conquer a bull this year, get them registered and in the lineup. They only need to raise $100 for the charity of their choice to participate and we've got a few bulls just waiting for riders. https://rvcagsociety.getcommunal.com/parent_programs/4782

Spread love through Chestermere with the Lana Sproul Kindness Project!

Have you been partaking in a project that showcases an act of kindness? This special category honours Lana Sproul, a beloved staff member at Indus School from 2005 to 2023. Lana made a positive impact on her students' lives and was known for being caring and kind, bringing out the best in everyone.

Here's how to enter:

🌺Complete an act of kindness over the course of at least one month

🌺Document your project with writing and photos

🌺Enter your project with your notebook!

*3 age groups: 6 & under, 11 & under, and 17 & under

Examples include, but are not limited to: making cards and delivering them to a seniors' centre, making family dinner one night a week, helping a neighbour, and fundraising for a cause.

The Sunflower Classes (500 & 501) at the Red Ribbon Competition are back!🌻🌻

Marilyn King donates the 1st prize for these classes in memory of her late husband, Steve King. Steve was a dedicated community volunteer and the founder of the Community Therapy Dogs Society, helping people one dog at a time. 🐾

⭐️⭐️Feature Red Ribbon Baking Entry⭐️⭐️

Granny Jen's Saskatoon (or Blueberry) Muffins!🫐🫐

It's more than a muffin. This event honours one of our longest standing Red Ribbon volunteers, Jen Peddlesden. She has been an icon at the country fair for years, most notably dressing up in her granny costume to teach pie crust making!

The closest to recreating these delicious muffins will win a Red Ribbon and bragging rights.

Here's the recipe:

Granny Jen’s Blueberry or Saskatoon Muffin

Wet ingredients
1 cup oatmeal
1 cup buttermilk or plain yogurt or 1 cup regular milk with 1 tbsp lemon juice
½ cup oil
1 egg beaten
1 tsp vanilla

Dry ingredients
1 cup flour (white )
½ tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1 tbsp grated orange or lemon rind. Or ½ tsp orange flavouring
1/3 cup brown sugar
½ cup chopped pecans ( walnuts/almonds work too)
Put in a large bowl. Then add the fruit.
1 cup blueberries or Saskatoons
Toss to coat berries with dry ingredients
Pour liquid ingredients over, stir gently.

Mix wet into dry.
*** If it's a bit too dry, add a bit more buttermilk, yogurt, or water.
You can make ahead of time; just don’t add the baking powder to the wet ingredients until just before combining.
Bake 25-30 mins at 350 degrees F, makes about 12 large muffins.
