Since the beginning of 2026, we have been able to run 16 partner wilderness programs with 10 organizations! From fun in the snow during winter camping to summer days full of portaging and canoeing, we are grateful for the trust, strong rapport and faithfulness of our partners.

We 💚 our Summer Team members! 

How has it already been over a month since we were at our basecamp with these smiling faces and servant hearts?!

Alongside your wilderness instructors, there was a team of people who helped make every wilderness trip with Coldwater possible. These young leaders ensured our basecamp was warm and welcoming and our programs were ready to go!

We are so thankful for the humble, responsibility-hungry and self-aware young adults who join our Summer Team each year!

Happy first day of autumn! 🍂

As the leaves begin to turn to orange and red across Ontario, we are welcoming the life-giving rhythms of fall with open arms! Later this week, we will wrap up our final planned wilderness program of 2026, before leaving basecamp and returning to our homes and year round office.

We look forward to spending the next few months debriefing, celebrating stories of impact, reconnecting with friends and family, and planning adventures for the year ahead.

In the last four months Coldwater Canada gave leadership to 22 wilderness trips as a part of 19 distinct programs - that’s a total of 215 youth and 98 adults served through wilderness ministry!

Just over two weeks ago, we officially wrapped up our 2026 summer programming! We are extremely grateful for the amazing Summer Team we were blessed with. Each of these leaders played a key role, helping to make formative wilderness experiences possible for many youth and adults.

As our Summer Team members head into the fall, we are praying that they will continue to nurture their relationships with Jesus and that they can apply what God taught them this summer 🌱

📣 Program Highlight: CAIRN ⛰️

A “cairn” is a pile of rocks purposefully left behind for us to see which way the trail goes. Knowing how to recognize a dependable path and having the courage to take it is one of the biggest challenges for young people. These themes will be explored during this five-day/four-night canoe trip for junior high students who want to step out and explore what a wilderness adventure is all about!
