Sometimes, confidence is not built in isolation. It grows through participation, exposure, and community.

The clubs we join, the teams we become part of, and the people we observe along the way can shape our voice, leadership, and self-belief in powerful ways.

At PEV Foundation’s and EGIS Consulting’s Power Up Your Voice & Leadership event, Aliyah Yusuff shared how speech and debate, sports, and learning from peers helped strengthen her confidence and public speaking skills.

It was inspiring to hear such thoughtful reflections from a young leader who is already recognizing the value of showing up, learning, and growing intentionally.

Last week, we witnessed something powerful.

Confidence is often built in the spaces where young people are encouraged to speak up, learn freely, grow intentionally, and believe in their abilities.

At our recent Power Up Your Voice and Leadership event, that is exactly what we saw. Young people stepping into their voices, showing up for themselves, and discovering what becomes possible when they are seen, heard, and supported.

When young people have access to the right opportunities, supportive communities, mentorship, and growth-focused environments, it can make a lasting difference in their journey. Sometimes, all it takes is one meaningful experience, one encouraging conversation, or one safe space to help someone discover their voice and step into their potential with confidence.

Growth begins when people are seen, heard, supported, and inspired to become more.
