Meet Dr. Bello, an accomplished researcher, innovator, and mentor joining the Eco Clubs Programme as we support young people in turning ideas into meaningful environmental action.
Through our partnership with the United Nations Association in Canada (UNA-Canada), the Power of Early Vision (PEV) Foundation is creating opportunities for young people to explore sustainability, develop leadership skills, and build the confidence to make a difference in their communities.
Dr. Bello brings a wealth of experience at the intersection of science, technology, agriculture, and sustainability.
As a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, his work applies genomics, bioinformatics, and machine learning to advance livestock resilience and agricultural sustainability. With more than 40 peer-reviewed publications, he has built a strong research portfolio while also demonstrating a commitment to supporting African students and early-career researchers.
As an Eco Clubs mentor, Dr. Bello will bring this experience into conversations with young people, helping them explore ideas, navigate challenges, and connect their interests to real-world solutions.
At PEV, we believe mentorship is an important part of helping young people move from potential to purposeful action. Having access to people who can share knowledge, challenge their thinking, and encourage them to keep going can make a meaningful difference.
