Game changing news! We have been awarded a grant that will pay for young, Indigenous people from the Beaufort Delta (Arctic region of NWT) who are experiencing homelessness or the threat of it, to travel to Thunder Bay to receive job skills training from KKETS, a fantastic Matawa First Nation organisation dedicated to this work. Communities in the Delta will select Indigenous who can succeed in this traveling opportunity, and those individuals will receive several weeks of training needed to secure employment when they return to the Delta.

Welcome back to the final post of the season for our Arctic greenhouse renovation. In just 4 weeks we ordered all of the material, had it shipped to Edmonton, forwarded to Tsiigehtchic, then completed the season's construction in just 5 days. It was a tremendous amount of work and a massive success. The soils and seeds will arrive at the end of April, setting the community up to grow massive amounts of fresh, healthy food

Day 4 of our Arctic greenhouse renovation saw the electrical work get underway with our friends at Gonezu Energy installing solar, AC, and DC wiring in freezing temperatures

While doing our greenhouse renovation, look who stopped by for a visit! The Honourable Rebecca Alty, Minister of Crown-Indigenous Relations and Member of Parliament for the Northwest Territories. We had a terrific conversation about this greenhouse, the new ones we will build this summer, and the potential to build them across the territories. We also spoke about other ways we can help eliminate insecurities in basic needs.
