Our last day in Panama we did the tourist thing. Had a chance to see what they call "the old city", where they have some beautiful cathedrals. Did some shopping for souvenirs and enjoyed lunch at different cafe spots. After lunch we went to see the Canal which included a Imax movie about how it was made and worked. We finished the day with a nice dinner together and more hard good-byes. Was a fabulous day but also so hard to believe the trip is already over.

What an incredible day! We got to go to Cerro Ancon to see the wildlife and skyline of Panama City. We saw two sloths, a Toucan, three Black Vultures, and an Iguana. At the top we saw the largest flag in Panama, it's the size of a basketball court. A statue of the first women poet in Panama. We prayed for the city. We stopped on the way to the church to buy a stove and some cooking supplies for the church in Cerro Cama. After lunch we painting and reorganized the storage room. We had another wonderful meal made by Pastor Maria and Edwardo outside the church building. We finished the night with some of the young people looking for lizards, and an icecube fight that ended with the garden hose coming out.

Today was a hard day, after 5 days in Cerro Cama we had to say good-bye. There were tears and hugs and lots of pictures. We did still do alot of work, painting, shoveling, digging, and cleaning. The women were invited down to see how they cook the lunch over the fire. One of the young ladies gifted each of us a hand made bracelet. The Cerro Cama Church gave a gift to each team member which was very unexpected. We had a wonderful time of worship and celebration together and the our new Church Family prayed over us. We will so miss our Church Family here in Cerro Cama but we are grateful for ways to stay connected like Facebook and WhatsApp.

Well we are past the half way mark. In the morning we stopped at the "Do it Center" and purchased a mattress for one of Pastor Jose kids. Sae lots of cool things and contemplated if they could be shipped home 🤣. At the work site alot more painting and moving sand happened. It was a little bit cooler today (by dinner it was only 30 degrees) so there where some lizards out around the work site. We had the privilege of helping celebrate Alix's birthday at the work site as well. It was a great day!

How can every day get better! Half the group helped with a VBS at a different school. We did glitter tattoos, puppets, action songs, a Bible story about Jesus healing the paralyzed man, a craft and an Easter Egg hunt. It was so much fun, the rain held off until we finished the Easter egg hunt. The rest of the team worked very hard painting at the church again. After lunch we all joined together for more painting and moving sand. We finished the day with a small walk by the church to meet the family who is cooking for us every day and to see where our new friend Alix who is working with us lives with his family. Everyone was very tires so we had many snoozing on the way back to the hotel.

Today we split into two teams, one went to a school to do VBS and one started at the work site. At the school there where about 30 children from kindergarten to grade 4. The Cerro cama Church team prepared a lesson about Jonah and we assisted. We did some action songs/puppets, participated in a skit, helped with a craft, had an Easter egg hunt, and handed out gifts. Emma was given a fresh picked fruit that we tried with our lunch at the work site! After lunch both teams worked together on painting the church building, so much painting needed, both inside and out, still more to go. A hand full of people helped with shoveling, bagging and moving sand. Was another very hot day but we where glad to have some cloud cover. We finished the day with another amazing meal prepared by Pastor Maria and Edwardo shared at the district office.

We had an amazing Easter Sunday worshiping with our Christian brothers and sisters at Eglesia Del Nazareno Church. The children acted out the life of Jesus while a song played, Reverend Ken Austin from our team shared a message, a few children sang a special song, and a women's group sang a special. We sang together in both English and Spanish, some songs alternating and some simultaneously, it was beautiful. After church we got to share a meal with the congregation and have a wonderful time of fellowship. The afternoon we had free time and had an opportunity to do a little shopping, exploring and enjoying ice cream as a team.

Saturday April 19th has come to a close. We had the opportunity to meet some amazing people in Cerro Cama. It was a very hot day but alot took place. Some of the team participate in a VBS program doing some puppets and action songs as well as another Easter egg hunt, while other team members worked on doing some exterior painting and moving gravel and dirt. A wonderful lunch was provided at the church that we got to share with those who came to the VBS and those there to work on the building.

First full day in Panama is done! It has already been so full, today we packed Easter eggs and headed to the park where we meet the Soto's neighbours and friends. We played games, did glitter tattoos, visited, and had an Easter hunt. The Easter story was shared and a testimony was given. What a great way to spend good Friday!
