Every spring the Vonin ladies get together at Fensala to bake for the Kaffistofa. April 18th they made vínarterta, and on May 2nd they are meeting again to bake flatbread and pönnukökur (Icelandic-style crepes) for sale over the summer at Kaffistofa.

ICELANDIC BAKING DAY — Icelandic Ladies Aid, better known as Vonin, met at Fensala Hall on April 18th, 2026 to make vínarterta, a multi-layered traditional Icelandic dessert.

Please be advised that the Annual General Meeting of the Stephan G Stephansson Icelandic Society has been postponed to MARCH 13TH, 2026 due to inclement weather and heavy snowfall issues.
