The red dress reminds us who is missing, daughters, mothers, aunties, sisters, and friends. May awareness and recognition bring us hope and change.❤️

To recognize the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation this year, we are sharing a poem of hope and reconciliation. 🧡🧡

Rita Joe was a Mi’kmaq poet, and "I Lost My Talk", was first published in 1978. Her carefully chosen words encourage us to think about the loss of voice and how important it is to be able to speak and tell our individual stories in our own ways, a privilege that many have not had throughout history, and even still today.

Happy National Indigenous Peoples Day everyone! Thought we would share this most beautiful post by Calgary Stampede First Nations Princess Pacey Strangling Wolf, whom we were happy to have speak at the Opening Ceremonies on Monday. Stay tuned for the video replay coming soon! 🧡🧡

Happy National Indigenous Peoples Day 🪶

Being the Calgary Stampede First Nations Princess is more than a title — it’s a chance to carry my culture proudly, share the stories of my people, and stand as a reminder of the strength and beauty that lives within our communities.

Today is a time to uplift and honour the voices, traditions, and teachings that have shaped who we are as Indigenous Peoples — from the lands we walk on, to the songs we sing, to the languages we speak.

I invite everyone to learn, to listen, and to join in celebrating the beauty of Indigenous ways of life — not just today, but every day.
