Annual Paving Program Construction Notice

Starting this week, our contractor, Aecon, will be on site for milling and paving activities as part of The City’s Annual Paving Program. We anticipate completing the project in late July.

Construction activities

Milling and paving activities will be completed overnight (9 p.m. to 5 a.m.), with the roadways open for daytime traffic at reduced speeds.

53 Street N.W. from Crowchild Trail to John Laurie Boulevard N.W.

· July 12: Start milling (removing) existing pavement

· July 18: Begin paving

John Laurie Boulevard N.W. from Sarcee Trail N.W. to Shaganappi Trail N.W.

· July 19: Start milling (removing) existing pavement

· July 23: Begin paving

Construction impacts

· Noise: Residents and businesses near the construction site can expect increased noise, along with the presence of crews, vehicles, and heavy equipment.

· Lane closures: Nightly lane closures are expected to complete milling and paving.

· Uneven driving surfaces: During construction, the roadway surface will be uneven with protruding manholes and bumps.

· Transit: Bus routes along 53 Street N.W. and John Laurie Boulevard N.W. may be impacted. For more information, please visit calgarytransit.com.
