Allies in Energy 2026 — What an incredible afternoon 👏💜

This week, we had the privilege of hosting a full room at the Calgary Petroleum Club for our Allies in Energy Executive Forum. Thank you to everyone, members and non-members alike, who joined us for such a meaningful and energizing conversation.

This year’s theme, “Leading in the Noise: Reclaiming the Lost Art of Human-Centered Communication”, truly resonated. Our panelists shared thoughtful and practical insights on how leaders can cut through complexity by leading with clarity, empathy, and intention.

A few key takeaways that stood out:
• In a fast-paced and often noisy environment, intentional listening is a leadership superpower
• Clarity and simplicity are critical when communicating through complexity
• Human connection remains at the core of effective leadership, no matter how much the landscape evolves

A sincere thank you to our outstanding panelists for sharing their experiences and perspectives, and to our incredible organizing committee for bringing this event to life.

On Sunday, hundreds of Calgarians came together at the McHugh Bluff stairs for the 15th annual Steps to End Homelessness Stair Climb in support of Inn From the Cold. ❄️

Founded in 2009 by local philanthropist and energy sector leader Suzanne West, the event is held each year in recognition of Suzanne’s birthday and her commitment to supporting families facing housing instability.

A huge shoutout to our Canadian Women in Energy members who showed up, bundled up, and powered through the cold and snow to support this incredible cause. Your energy (and endurance!) did not go unnoticed. 👏

Inn from the Cold plays a critical role in our community by helping families access emergency shelter and the resources needed to transition back into stable housing.

We’re so proud to see our community stepping up (literally) to make a difference. Job well done to everyone who climbed, cheered, and supported!

Thank you to everyone who joined us last Thursday for our April CWiE Technical Session at the Calgary Petroleum Club, especially those who braved the snowstorm to be there!

We had a fantastic turnout for Flaring 101, where Ian Forge and Karen Florez from Tornado Combustion Technologies Inc. introduced attendees to the fundamentals of flare systems. The session covered what flare stacks are, why they’re essential for safety and waste gas disposal, and the basic science of combustion, including the conditions required for efficient burning.

Attendees also gained insight into different flare designs and types, along with key environmental and operational considerations such as methane emissions, combustion efficiency, and carbon buildup.

A big thank you to our speakers for an engaging and informative presentation, and to our members and guests for contributing to a thoughtful and dynamic discussion.

We’d also like to extend our sincere thanks to our 2026 Corporate Sponsors, whose support makes events like this possible:
