The Brantford Caribbean Association was established in 2013 and became the governing body in the sponsorship of the Guyanese/Caribbean Village which participated in the Brantford International Villages Festival last year. This year, the Village will be called the Caribbean Village. The Caribbean Village Committee, through their hard work and commitment, produced a very dynamic and successful Villa

ge in 2013. It is our intent to become more self- sufficient and independently take on the responsibilities for operating the Village for years to come. Our hope is to serve the greater Caribbean Diaspora residing in and around the city of Brantford. We have established our own dance troupe and will hold our inaugural banquet this year. The Villages is a family event that provides the community with an opportunity to experience different cultures, foods, dance and stories in a friendly atmosphere. Another key beneficiary is our youth. Many second and third generation Caribbean children struggle to remain educated and connected to their heritage. Through the Brantford Caribbean Association we are happy to provide many opportunities for the community to engage with us and learn more about the Caribbean.
