Today is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. A day to listen to survivors and their stories. To learn about the residential school system and its lasting impact on indigenous communities across Canada. And a day to take meaningful time supporting indigenous organizations, artists, educators and communities as a whole.
Reconciliation takes more than just acknowledgment. It takes intentional and continuous action.
At the Adelaide Hunter Hoodless Museum we recognize and respect that our property sits on the traditional homelands of the Mississaugas of the Credit, Haudenosaunee, Attiwonderonk and Anishinabewaki peoples
We honour and respect the enduring presence of Indigenous peoples connected to this landโthose who have cared for and belonged to it since time immemorium
