🚸 School zones will be busy again soon!

With September 1st just a week away, here’s a quick reminder to slow down and take extra care around our schools.

🚗 Follow posted speed limits and watch for students walking and biking.
🚌 Give school buses plenty of room and never pass when the red lights are flashing.
🅿️ Don’t stop or park where it’s not allowed.
👮 Follow traffic signs and directions from school patrols.
⏰ Give yourself a little extra time for drop-off and pick-up.

And remember, 30 km/h school zones are in effect Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, from September through June.

Let’s get ready for a safe start to the school year! 💙

Join us in welcoming Dr. Ogheneochuko Bakpa and her family through the Rural Community Immigration Pilot (RCIP) and Significant Benefit Pathway to our community!

🥼Dr. Bakpa has joined Brandon Clinic Medical Corporation, bringing several years of medical experience from the United Kingdom and Nigeria.

Through a strong partnership between Brandon Medical Clinic, Economic Development Brandon, Canadian Immigration and Citizenship (IRCC), and Dr. Bakpa herself, her work permit was approved in just five days, a process that can often take several months. Dr. Bakpa is now licensed to practice in Brandon and has already begun seeing patients.

When asked why she chose Brandon, Dr. Bakpa shared that her former colleague, Dr. O'Neill, who is now also her colleague at the clinic, spoke highly of the community. She was also drawn to Brandon's welcoming atmosphere, strong sense of community, and family-oriented lifestyle.

This successful outcome highlights Brandon's commitment to attracting highly skilled healthcare professionals and supporting their transition to living and working in our community.

We encourage all residents to join us in welcoming Dr. Bakpa and her family to Brandon. If you know physicians or other healthcare professionals considering a move, please share this story and help spread the word about the opportunities available in our community.
