Field testing the MooCall HEAT collars to better understand multi-sire breeding group dynamics. Bulls are fitted with collars that connect with cow ear tags to notify when cows are in heat and bred.

Data from collars will be compiled with pregnancy check, calving interval, and genetic sire confirmation.

June hail storms significantly set back the field and made the call to over-seed the field. Spots look promising & definitely want to try this combo again next year! Looking forward to seeing the regrowth potential for fall stockpile.

Beating the heat - as we move through our grazing rotations we move the water trough with the cows plugging into points along summer water lines - with some added plumbing & timers for intermittent use now have cooling station for days with heat warnings

Started the morning with presentation on soil carbon and how layers of data can used to support ranching decisions. Then headed out to Odanah Pasture with McRae Land and Livestock and Ducks Unlimited Canada - Manitoba for great discussion on grazing high legume pastures and learning curve on using virtual fencing in comparison to solar powered fencing carts Range Ward and 7L Pasture Pal
