Nori had a big day yesterday, joining us at the parade, and we couldn’t be more proud of her. ❤️

Nori carries more than a few scars on her body, and while we don’t know her full story, we know life hasn’t always been kind to her. Based on her marks, we believe she may have been attacked by other dogs in the past, which means she needs a little time and patience when meeting new dogs and people.

But once you earn Nori’s trust, you’ll discover the sweetest, most affectionate girl imaginable. Personal space? Never heard of it. This girl wants to be as close to her people as physically possible and is happiest curled up beside you (or preferably on top of you).

She absolutely adores the child in her foster home and has shown just how much love she has to give. Like many dogs, she can get excited at times, but she’s working hard on redirecting that excitement and is making incredible progress every day.

Watching Nori walk proudly in the parade yesterday was a reminder of how far she’s come and how much work her foster family has put into her. From a difficult past to learning what it means to be loved, she continues to show us just how resilient and special she is.

Now all she needs is a family of her own to cheer her on for the rest of her journey. 🐾💕

Day 21 & 22 of posting Briar until she’s adopted! 🐾

We got busy yesterday and forgot, so you’re getting a two-for-one special today. 🤪

This weekend I got to go watch a sport the humans call field lacrosse. It looked a lot like everyone was running around with giant Chuckit! sticks… except nobody was throwing a ball for me.

Rude.

I sat patiently, supervised the game, and remained available in case anyone suddenly remembered that dogs are supposed to be included in ball-related activities. Unfortunately, the humans were too focused on chasing their own ball around.

Maybe next time they’ll get their priorities straight.

Augusta 🐾

At just 5 months old, Augusta is already proving she’s got the whole puppy thing figured out.

She loves a good play session, happily zooming around the yard and collecting toys like they’re prized possessions, but she’s just as happy curling up beside you for a cuddle and a nap afterward. She has that perfect mix of fun and sweet that makes everyone fall in love with her. Augusta is great with other dogs, kids and cats, making her a perfect addition to any family!

Augusta is a gentle, easygoing girl who takes new things in stride. She’s curious about the world, loves being around her people, and has a calm, affectionate personality that’s hard to resist.

For such a young pup, she’s doing amazing with crate training, making great progress with potty training, and sleeping through the night like a champ.

She’s the kind of puppy who can keep you entertained one minute and melt into your lap the next. Smart, cuddly, and full of love, Augusta is ready to find a family of her own.

If you’re looking for a puppy who is equal parts adventure buddy and professional snuggle expert, Augusta might just be your girl. ❤️

Well… we asked for a sponsor to send CeCe to the low-cost clinic.

But thanks to your donations, we didn’t just raise enough for one dog, we raised enough for FOUR.

So, naturally, Erika and Dana loaded up and set off on another dog-saving adventure, welcoming three more deserving pups from a rural pound into the safety of our rescue.

So thanks to all of you, Churro, Reid, Marble and CeCe are now safe and headed to the low-cost clinic this weekend for their vetting.

What started as help for one dog turned into helping four.

This is what your donations do. They don’t just pay for vetting — they create opportunities to say “yes” when dogs are running out of time.

And thank you to every single person who donated, shared, cheered us on, and made this little dog-saving adventure possible. Sometimes the village shows up so big that we end up rescuing three extra dogs by accident. 🐾🚐❤️

These dogs are still looking for foster or forever homes. If you’re able to help, please reach out.

Day 20 of Posting Briar Until She’s Adopted

Today we’re throwing it all the way back to February — Day 1 of Briar’s rescue journey.

If you look closely, you can practically hear the Windows error sound playing behind those eyes. She’s smiling, sitting nicely, and doing her best impression of Ross from Friends:

“I’m fine.”

But, as we all know…

She was, in fact, not fine.

Under that smile was a scared, confused dog who had no idea what was happening next. Yet somehow, even then, Briar was still trying her best to trust people.

Fast forward to today, and she’s blossomed into the goofy, adventurous, affectionate girl we know and love. The fear has faded, the confidence has grown, and the “I’m fine” has finally become a little more believable.

Now all she’s missing is a family of her own.

Because while rescue changed her life, adoption is what completes the story. ❤️

Not a single application for Roan. 😞

At 8 years old and just under 40 lbs, Roan is the definition of a gentle soul. She came into rescue when her owner had to move into a personal care home, and now she’s patiently waiting for someone to give her a second chance.

Roan is deaf, but she doesn’t let that slow her down one bit. She’s sweet, friendly, and happiest when she’s curled up near her people enjoying the simple things in life. No puppy chaos here, just a calm, loving companion looking for a soft place to land.

We were told Roan likes to “herd” cats, so a cat-free home may be best. Because she can startle if approached unexpectedly, she’d do best with older children who can understand and respect her hearing impairment.

This lovely girl has so much love left to give. She deserves a family who sees past her age and hearing loss and recognizes the incredible dog she is. ❤️

Could that family be yours?

Day 18 of Posting Briar Until She’s Adopted

Tonight’s exciting accomplishment: Briar sat politely and waited for her supper like a perfect lady.

That’s right. The same dog who can turn a simple walk into an adventure and believes every new smell deserves a full investigation somehow manages to have impeccable dinner manners.

She’s 1 year old, full of personality, loves learning, and is ready to bring a little extra fun to someone’s life.

Apply to adopt Briar before she starts filing formal complaints about being overlooked. 🐾❤️
