The Ontario Volunteer Centre Network is a network of provincial Volunteer Centres. The network’s mandate is to be the unified voice that strengthens the individual and collective ability of Volunteer Centres in Ontario to promote and develop volunteerism. The OVCN actively promotes two Pan Am/Parapan Am Games’ Volunteer
Legacy Initiatives - PREB-Ontario and Spark Ontario; as well as the Change the World program.
1. PREB-Ontario which is a volunteer experience recognition program designed to build Ontario’s communities through recognizing volunteers for their skills-based volunteer experience. Qualifying volunteers receive PREB Certificates that lists their skills used during their volunteer experience, which in turn can be used as credible proof of work experience.
2. Change the World, an Ontario Youth Volunteer Challenge, is designed to engage and encourage youth aged 14 to 18 years to volunteer through a variety of exciting community initiatives, while being a force for good in their local communities.
3. Spark Ontario is designed to bring potential volunteers and non-profit organizations together to create a SPARK for volunteering.
