Brett's Stand for Diabetes

We were recently overwhelmed by the generosity of family over the holidays. Cousin Grant Samson stopped by with the boys Mac and Spencer to deliver a $10,000 cheque on behalf of Hebron and their "Nobody Gets Hurt" safety initiative on the Hebron platform. The Glenn's Helping Hand Foundation and Brett's Stand for Diabetes will support many families in Newfoundland and Labrador with this donation. Cousin Grant advocated for this. We thank him dearly for his time and dedication towards getting this sizeable donation!

Last week we were so very proud to support our local Exploits Search and Rescue team with two Emergency Diabetic kits. Just one of the many initiaves that the Glenn's Helping Hand Foundation and Brett's Stand for Diabetes are helping to support our province with. We Will continue to work with the right partners to get these kits into the hands of all the SAR teams throughout the province.

Huge Thank You going out to Corey, Stephanie and Brett Samson representing Brett’s Stand for Diabetes and Glenn’s Helping Hands Foundation who donated 2 Blood Sugar monitoring kits to our team during our Moose Burger Sale. This is certainly an asset to our emergency kits. We certainly appreciate your support.

Last Saturday we were overwhelmed with pride from the community support for our Foundation Brett's Stand for Diabetes. Our amazing friends from the Botwood Lions Club hosted a walk. We were so happy to be able to join them. The Botwood Lions donated the proceeds in aid of our Emergency Diabetic Kit initiative. The Glenn's Helping Hand Foundation and Brett's Stand for Diabetes very much appreciated the $1,015 donation!!! Many thanks to Shoppers Drug Mart in Botwood for showing their support as well!

Good Evening Folks,

We are very pleased to once again offer our heartfelt thanks to our amazing friends and partners Brad and Rodney from Exploits Meadow Farms.

For three years in a row these fine folks have opened their home and livelihood to help support Brett's Stand for Diabetes!

The love and support that we have received from family, friends, and small business has been overwhelming!

As we reflect back over the last 5 years of this amazing adventure we continue to be blown away with where our community partnerships have taken us. We've helped so many families in our province! Who would have known how a young 8 year old boy with a love of farming and helping others would be able to make such an impact. Its been doable because of folks like our friends Brad and Rodney!

This year at the Open Farm Day event we were able to raise $2,186!

Furthermore, because of our connections through Exploits Meadow Farms, we were once again invited to be the charity of choice for the NL Federation of Agriculture Expo in early October.
What an amazing weekend that was. With funds raised by donations at the door and a huge donation from egg sales from Newfoundland Eggs, we were able to raise $6,802.80!!!

Again, we will do great things because of your support!
Many thanks to all the volunteers who helped us with both events!!

We will make an announcement in December with our total funds raised for 2025 as we await for the completion of our final event of the year.

Our Friends at the Botwood Lion club will be hosting a walk in light of November being Diabetes Awareness Month on Saturday, November 22nd starting at 2PM! Walk route to be determined. Just another example of the amazing community support!

They raise money to help others living with diabetes. They have some great merch and lots of good information to share.

Today is the last day to visit the Agriculture Expo at Joe Byrne Arena. Open today from 10-5. Thanks to these two fellers yesterday for selling 1500 dozen eggs!! Come on out and get your eggs before they sell out today. $3 a dozen!! 🥚 🐓

Day 2 is started!! The Expo is open until 5:00pm today. Come on out to watch the sheep shearing, enjoy fresh corn at the corn boil and see all the local farm booths! This show is great!! 🐑 🐓 🐷 🥕 🥔 🐝

The Agriculture Expo is open!! Today from 4-9, tomorrow from 9:30-5 and Sunday from 10-5. Come on out to the Joe Byrne Arena as Brett’s stand for Diabetes is the charity on the door again this year.

Afternoon folks! We are very excited to be a part of the NL Federation of Agriculture Expo happening this weekend October 3rd-5th, Friday to Sunday at the Joe Byrne Memorial stadium in Grand Falls Windsor!! For a 2nd year in a row we've been chosen as the charity to help with admissions!

If you'd like to lend a hand and help us work a shift on the door for admissions please reach out to one of the Samson family. It will be admission by donation. We're hoping to set up a schedule. Just let us know what day you're available either Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, and if you'd rather do a morning or afternoon shift.

Brett will be rather busy as well with his own booth during the Expo! Be sure to stop in and say hi!
