Not ready to say goodbye to summer yet? โ˜€๏ธโ›บ

Labour Day weekend is almost here, and we have a limited number of spots available in both campgrounds.

Make Diamond Valley your home base for the long weekend. Camp, play a round at the Turner Valley Golf Club or Diamond Valley Disc Golf Course, bring your fishing gear down to the Sheep River, bike or walk the Friendship Trail and local pathway system, or head west for a day of hiking and exploring in Kananaskis.

And thereโ€™s another reason to make the most of this weekend.

The Dr. Lander Memorial Pool closes for the season after Labour Day weekend. With the Town still considering the future of the pool, this could potentially be its final weekend, making it an especially good time to get in one more swim and enjoy this longtime Diamond Valley summer tradition.

The spray park also wraps up for the season after the long weekend.

Camping doesnโ€™t end with Labour Day though. Both Foothills Lions Club campgrounds remain open until Thanksgiving, so there is still plenty of time to plan a September stay.

๐Ÿ•๏ธ Limited Labour Day weekend spots remain: www.foothillslionsclub.ca/campground

๐ŸŠ Pool schedule and information: www.diamondvalley.town/pool

Come for the weekend or longer. Camp, golf, fish, bike, swim, explore, and squeeze a little more out of summer before itโ€™s gone.

Close enough to commute, far enough to feel away.

Funding requests are coming back September 1. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›

Throughout the year, the Foothills Lions Club is proud to support local organizations, youth programs and community initiatives that make a difference in Diamond Valley and the surrounding area.

If your group or organization has an upcoming project or need, watch our website and page for details as funding requests reopen this fall. Be sure to plan early.

Summer isnโ€™t over yet. โ˜€๏ธโ›บ

There is still time to book a stay in Diamond Valley and make the most of the last stretch of summer.

Stay at one of the Foothills Lions Club campgrounds and spend your days enjoying everything nearby. Cool off at the spray park or Dr. Lander Memorial Pool, play a round at the Turner Valley Golf Club or Diamond Valley Disc Golf Course, bring your fishing gear down to the Sheep River, or hop on your bike and explore the local trails and pathway system connecting both sides of Diamond Valley.

Want to venture a little farther? Kananaskis is just a short trip away, making Diamond Valley a great home base for a day trip to see the falls, head out for a hike, enjoy a scenic drive, or spend the day exploring before coming back to camp.

The spray park and Dr. Lander Memorial Pool are scheduled through September 7, giving you one more reason to plan a late-summer stay.

And the campgrounds donโ€™t close when summer does. Both remain open until Thanksgiving.

Community doesnโ€™t happen by accident.

It is built by the people who show up early, stay late, lend a hand, sell tickets, cook breakfast, help at events, support their neighbours and quietly do the jobs that keep local traditions going.

We see it at our own events, and we see it in the organizations, volunteers and residents we work alongside throughout the year.

The Foothills Lions Club is grateful to be part of a community where kindness and volunteerism still matter. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›

Have you booked one more getaway yet?

School and fall routines may be returning, but camping season is far from over. The Foothills Lions Club campgrounds are open until Thanksgiving, giving you plenty of time for a weekend away, a midweek break, or a few extra days in Diamond Valley.

Bring the bikes and explore the local pathway system, including the Friendship Trail connecting both sides of Diamond Valley. Spend some time fishing along the nearby Sheep River, play a round at the Turner Valley Golf Club or Diamond Valley Disc Golf Course, or use your campsite as a home base for a day trip
into Kananaskis.

Close enough to commute to Calgary. Far enough to feel away.
