🎉 Another Successful Seniors Expo! 🎉

Kings Seniors' Safety, together with the Alzheimers Society, hosted the 2nd Annual Seniors Expo — and what an amazing day it was. With over 35 vendors, seniors had the chance to browse, ask questions, and take home valuable information to help them continue living well, safely, and confidently.

This Expo is all about information, connection, and empowerment — a welcoming space where seniors can explore services, supports, and resources available right here in our community.

There were plenty of door prizes, and our barbecue was a big hit, thanks to the support of Crime Stoppers. We’re grateful to everyone who came out, participated, volunteered, or supported the event in any way.

We’re already looking forward to next year’s Seniors Expo.

Community, connection, and safety — that’s what it’s all about. 🌟

🌼 Week 4 of the Living Alone Academy – What a Wonderful Finish! 🌼

We wrapped up our final week of the four‑week Living Alone Academy at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Wolfville — such a warm, welcoming space for learning and connection.

This week, participants enjoyed an excellent Personal Safety presentation from Corporal Kenda Sutherland of the RCMP. They also heard from Trishe Colman, Director of Kings Seniors' Safety, and Trisha Urquhart, Coordinator, who shared their very popular Seniors’ Toolbox.

You might be wondering… What exactly is the Seniors’ Toolbox?
It’s a collection of practical ways to help put money back in your pocket — including information on government grants, rebates, free tax services, and more. It’s always a hit.

🌟 Kings Seniors’ Safety - Estate Planning Presentation 🌟

Phyllis Crowe (L), welcomed Trishe Colman, Director, Kings Seniors' Safety at the White Rock Hall and connected with a wonderful audience for an informative session on Wills and Estates. The turnout was fantastic, and the conversations were meaningful.

🌟 Living Alone – St. Francis of Assisi Church 🌟
We’re moving right along, but there’s still time to join us — and we’d love to see you for the last two weeks of the program. Tuesday mornings from 9:30 - Noon, May 26 & June 2 will be our last two sessions.

Week 2 brought two excellent speakers.
First, Greg White shared a heartfelt and insightful presentation on Funeral Planning, offering guidance, clarity, and comfort around a topic many of us avoid but truly benefit from understanding.
Our second speaker, Nathan Brown, Housing and Unhoused Coordinator for Kings & Hants County through Kids Action Program and Opportunities and Social Development, provided a wealth of information on eviction prevention, tenancy rights, and answered many thoughtful questions from the group.

There’s still so much value ahead, and these final weeks promise to be just as meaningful. If you’ve been thinking about joining us, now is the perfect time. Come out, learn, and connect.
Hope to see you there! đź’›
