The Bertens family first moved into their Brentwood Crescent home in 2015 — and like so many families during the height of COVID, they took on a major project in May 2021. What began as a dream quickly turned into their biggest DIY adventure yet. They bumped out the house and added 1,100 square feet, creating the bright, spacious home they had always imagined for their family.

Their Christmas style is a cozy mix of traditional and modern, with each room offering its own personality and festive twist. Classic touches mingle with fresh, contemporary décor, making every space feel warm, welcoming, and full of holiday spirit.

They moved into their home in December 2020, and their very first purchase was the Christmas tree that still stands proudly in their living room every year. When asked what they love most about Christmas, Charlene shared that it’s all about family, caring, community, and those little seasonal moments — school concerts, festive church gatherings, theatre shows, holiday movies — all the joy that brings people together to share hope, love, and light.
