Standing with Kenya
Heavy rains across Kenya have led to severe flooding, especially in Nairobi and surrounding areas. Roads have turned into rivers, communities are stranded, and many families are facing frightening and uncertain conditions.
The videos you see here show major roads and underpasses completely flooded, places where people are simply trying to get home, now unable to pass. In many areas, homes, especially vulnerable housing, are at serious risk.
At Graceland African Mission, our hearts are with our students, their families, and all those affected.
We invite you to stand with Kenya during this difficult time by staying informed, sharing awareness, and supporting the communities impacted.

Happy Jamhuri Day, Kenya!
Today, December 12th, Kenya celebrates Jamhuri Day a national holiday marking both the country’s independence and the birth of the Republic.
Kenya is 61 years old, having gained full independence from British rule on December 12, 1963, and becoming a Republic a year later on December 12, 1964.
At Graceland African Mission, we join our Kenyan partners, students, and friends in honouring this important day. Jamhuri Day is a reminder of the strength, resilience, and unity that continue to define the people of Kenya.
To our Canadian supporters: today is an opportunity to celebrate alongside the communities we work with and to recognize the rich history and hope that inspire our partnership.
Happy Jamhuri Day to all our Kenyan friends and family!

Celebrating 20 Years of Graceland Africa Mission!
This year marks a remarkable milestone — 20 years of walking beside Kenyan communities, investing in students, strengthening families, and helping create sustainable change. What began in 2005 with a simple desire to help has grown into a partnership that has touched thousands of lives.
Together, we have:
Education & Opportunity
• Built, outfitted, and supported a primary school
• Established three scholarship programs for primary, secondary, and post-secondary education
• Nearly 50 students currently in school, including 25+ studying in college or university
• Celebrated graduates at every level — secondary, college, and university
Children & Families
• Converted a 9-unit apartment building into a children’s home
• Helped families grow economically through animal husbandry, organic farming, and small-business support
• Provided emergency relief to scholarship families during the 2020 pandemic
Water & Community Support
• Installed water-harvesting systems on schools and churches in semi-arid regions
• Purchased a water-delivery truck to bring 10,000 litres at a time to remote villages
Health & Humanitarian Aid
• Shipped a 40’ container filled with hospital beds, medical supplies, tools, desks, and shoes
• Provided food aid to hundreds during the East African Drought of 2011
• Supported hospitals, schools, churches, and communities across eastern and western Kenya
For 20 years, we’ve learned, adapted, and grown — always guided by respect, transparency, and partnership. And through it all, one truth has remained:
It’s not charity.
It’s investing in people.
It’s financing hope.
To our Canadian supporters, Kenyan partners, donors, volunteers, and friends: thank you.
Your belief in this mission has changed lives — and continues to build a brighter future for thousands.
Join us as we invest in the next 20 years of hope, education, and opportunity.

Emily’s Inspiring Journey
Meet Emily, the youngest of three sisters and a shining example of what hope, hard work, and opportunity can do.
Graceland African Mission began supporting Emily’s education when she entered Grade 9. With Canadian financial support, mentorship, and her own remarkable determination, Emily has grown into a passionate advocate for mental health and education.
Today, Emily is:
- Pursuing her MA in Counselling Psychology
- Building the Young Counsellors and Psychologists Network (YCPN)—a platform connecting young mental health practitioners and supporting their professional growth
- Combining her B.Ed in English and Literature with her counselling training to help learners and society at large
Emily shares:
“I am passionate about helping others heal, grow and pursue healthy relationships. I believe compassion is strength, and service is purpose.”
Her future plans include pursuing a PhD in Psychology, expanding YCPN, and creating accessible mental health care and safe spaces for young people.
We are so grateful to witness Emily’s journey. Her story reflects the heart of GAM’s mission: when opportunity meets determination, lives and communities are transformed.

In 2014, a young boy named Enan joined the Graceland African Mission family. With the support of a sponsor, Enan began his educational journey—one that would change the course of his life.
From primary school, through secondary school, and into college, Enan’s perseverance and positivity never wavered. Despite academic and social challenges, he pushed forward with the support of his sponsor, Nancy, and the encouragement of the Graceland community.
In December 2024, Enan graduated with distinction from Sigalagala National Polytechnic with a Diploma in Community Development & Social Work.
His journey didn't stop there.
Recently, Enan reached out to the Graceland Board with a powerful proposal to give back—a program that empowers youth through talent development and supports young girls with mentorship, life skills, and education. He’s ready to use his education and life experience to uplift the next generation.
In Enan’s words:
"GAM has helped me to make a difference in my life and my career. With the support of my parents alone, I could not have made it. Your generosity and belief in my education has made a significant difference."
His sponsor Nancy reflects:
"From a small boy to a man, Enan has grown into a person who lifts up others. I’m proud to have supported his journey."
Check out Enan’s short video and photos to see the heart behind this inspiring young leader.
Thank you to every sponsor, donor, and prayer partner who makes stories like Enan’s possible. You are building futures.
