Once again, CLYS and Unbridled Leadership joined forces on October 6th, 2026, to present the "Creativity & Horseplay" workshop at Forever Tyme Sanctuary in Stouffville, Ontario.

The half day workshop delivered an enriching, transformative experience that seamlessly blended hands-on artistic expression with experiential equine discovery. By dividing the afternoon between expressive painting and grounded Equine Assisted Learning with two gentle horses and a pony, participants were able to explore their creativity while building meaningful non-verbal connections, boosting self-confidence, and practicing emotional regulation in a welcoming, non-judgmental space. The overwhelmingly positive feedback from both the participants and their Community Support Workers highlighted not only the immense joy and engagement throughout the activities, but also the lasting sense of pride, calm, and connection everyone carried home with them.

Celebrating Vivian!

Vivian joined our Markham office team as a volunteer through the ACT Initiative to gain hands-on experience working in an office environment.

Vivian brought a thoughtful and focused approach to the office, helping with administrative tasks, keeping things organized, and supporting day-to-day activities.

This past week, members of our team had the opportunity to attend PalCare’s 26th Annual Grief and Bereavement Symposium, centred on the theme, “Meeting People Where They’re At: Compassionate, Equitable Care for All.”

Amelia, Individualized Planning Facilitator, and Eugenie, Community Support Worker, shared touching stories highlighting how CLYS has supported individuals through end-of-life care. Katie, Director of Operations, also joined a panel discussion facilitated by Dr. Naheed Dosani, contributing CLYS’s perspective on providing compassionate, equitable and inclusive support.

We were grateful for the opportunity to share our experiences and perspectives on supporting people with intellectual disabilities, as well as employees, through grief, bereavement, and palliative care.

It was a meaningful day of learning, reflection, sharing, and connecting with colleagues from across sectors.
