This Event is happening today!

Hello everyone in Atlin,

Come spend a little time in the garden with us today. Bring the children, invite a neighbour, and help gather the food that’s grown here for our community. With the colder days coming, let’s get these fresh vegetables out of the ground and home to our tables. Even if you can only stop by for a little while, we’d love to see you.

Today, October 7, from 4–6 pm at the Tutan Hit Garden.

Bring a bag, box or basket to carry some goodness home. No meal will be served but it will be a time to gather, visit and share in the harvest. 💛😊

Attention TRTFN Citizens,

Over the coming months, there will be information sharing sessions for the proposed Canagold New Polaris Mine Project. Each monthly meeting focuses on a specific topic related to the Canagold mine project. Citizens can choose the meetings that interest them, learn more, and ask questions about the topic being presented.

First Session is Tomorrow Tuesday, October 6, 2026, the topic is: River Access

Hear from Canagold about how this summer’s landing craft trials went, what concerns were raised, and what is being done or planned to address them. There will be time to ask questions about the trials and river access.

12:00 to 2:30 p.m. Virtually and at the Health & Wellness Boardroom
5:00 to 7:30 p.m. Virtually and downstairs at Tutan Hit

Both sessions will cover the same information, so you can choose the time that works best for you. All sessions are available in person and on Zoom.

Light refreshments will be provided.

TRTFN citizens who are staff are encouraged to attend during working hours and can count this as part of their working day pending manager approval.

Whether you have been following the project or are just beginning to learn about it, you are welcome to join. Our river and lands matter deeply to our families, and we want citizens to have the information and space to ask questions.

Today, we walked together.

Gunalchéesh to everyone who joined us on our Truth & Reconciliation Day walk from Atlin School to the Atlin Inn.

There is something powerful about walking beside one another as friends, families, neighbours and community. Healing does not happen alone. It happens when we make space for truth, when we listen with open hearts, and when we choose to keep showing up for one another with love and respect.

A heartfelt Gunalchésh ♥️ to the Atlin Inn, and to every volunteer who prepared and served the delicious meal that brought us together afterward. Your kindness, generosity and care were felt around every table.

Today was a reminder of the kind of community we want to keep building together. One grounded in truth. One strengthened by friendship. One where healing is held with care, and where every person knows they are welcome to walk beside us.

We honour each of you for the kindness and respect you showed today. May we keep walking forward together, carrying truth in our hearts and shining a little more light for one another.

Dear Citizens,

At this difficult time we continue to be respectful as we ask for a moment of your attention. We have been asked to share two important notices for tomorrow, September 30, 2026.

Truth and Reconciliation Day: Location Change

The gathering previously planned for Tutan Hit will now follow last year’s walk to the Atlin Inn. Please meet at Atlin School at 11 a.m. After a short ceremony, we will walk together to the Atlin Inn for a hot lunch. All are welcome to come together for comfort and support.

Food Fish for Whitehorse Citizens

Our fishermen and teams are returning home out of respect for this loss, bringing food fish for our citizens.

Pickup is planned for 4 p.m. at Shipyards Park tomorrow. Please check the Facebook notice for an updated arrival time before heading over. If you are picking up fish for someone else, please leave a note letting the team know who you are collecting for.

As our Nation grieves the loss of a young person. We have cancelled this weekend’s JCM out of respect for the family and our community.

With direction from our Elders, A Truth and Reconciliation walk has planned for tomorrow September 30th 2026. We will gather at the Atlin School at 11AM for ceremony and a walk to the Atlin Inn. Join us at this time, as we offer a caring space to sit together, share a hot meal, and find support in one another’s company.

Support is also available through our Health & Wellness team. Please reach out if you need someone to talk to or help through these difficult days. You do not have to carry this alone.
