This coming Sunday, for Talk 2, we will be learning about Fear.

We continue our Feast Talk Series titled FEELS: Why Your Emotions Matter.

In this 5-part teaching series, our goal is to learn how to better lead our emotions so that we can love God, love others, and love ourselves more.

Last month's Talk 1 was titled Shame. Shame is the intensely painful feeling of believing that you are flawed and therefore unworthy of acceptance and belonging.

The key message of Talk 1 was:
You are already loved.

In Talk 2, we will explore the emotion of fear.
What is fear? How does it affect our lives? And how does God want us to deal with it?

The key message of Talk 2 is:
God’s love is your safe place.

At its core, shame is a signal. It alerts you that your identity feels under threat.

Because every emotion carries a gift.

In our previous series, we explored how to live well under one roof—growing together and becoming stronger as a family. But to truly show up as our best for our family, we need to look inward. We need to learn how to understand and lead what’s happening inside us.

That’s why our next series is called:

FEELS: Why Your Emotions Matter

When it comes to our emotions, most of us face two core challenges: we struggle to label them, and we struggle to lead them.

Labeling means identifying what we’re actually feeling—naming it, understanding it, and discerning where it comes from. But for many of us, emotions can feel like one tangled, chaotic blur. And when we can’t clearly name what we feel, it becomes nearly impossible to lead those emotions in a healthy way.

That’s the heart behind this 5-part teaching series:
to help you lead your emotions well—so you can love God, love others, and even love yourself more deeply

May this be our prayer!

“God, slow me down”

As much as we want to take more this month, help us to enjoy the beauty of stillness in your presence.

Give us that perfect peace in the truth that you are in full control. And that when the pressure of what needs to be done knocks on our door again, we can have assurance in your promises.

We can always rejoice in your sovereignty.
Remind us that having the world means nothing if you weren't there.

YOU NEED TO LAUGH.

I created you with great joy. I dance over you, sing over you, and brood over you with a Father's heart for his child. You move me and bring me more pleasure than you know. Beloved, it's time for you to embrace my joy. It's time to live a higher life. Let me peel back the layers of heaviness that life has covered you with so that you can embrace my joy.

I am not heavy-handed. I am the epitome of joy. I created you to have fun. Laughter is like medicine, and I offer it to you without measure. Don't take life so seriously that you forget to enjoy it. Don't be afraid to enjoy life because you're scared of what you may lose. I want to fill you with unspeakable joy! Tears of joy will replace tears of sorrow. Joy will unlock the chains that have weighed you down. But you must not only receive it, you must interact with joy. Beloved, that means you must laugh.

Yes, laugh out loud! Heaviness doesn't want you to be free. Pride wants you to feel embarrassed. But joy is the key you need to become free today. Laugh on purpose today!
