ADULT EVENING WELDING CLASSES — REGISTRATION NOW OPEN

STEM U Foundation is now accepting registrations for its 16-week Adult Evening Welding Program, beginning August 31, 2026, at the STEM U Welding Lab at St. Ignatius High School.

Participants will receive hands-on training in:

• GMAW (MIG) Welding
• SMAW (Stick) Welding
• Certification opportunity in two positions

💰 Cost: BZ$1,150
💳 Payment plans available
👥 Limited to 18 seats

Choose your schedule:

Option 1: Monday, Tuesday & Friday | 6:00–8:00 PM
Option 2: Saturday | 1:00–6:00 PM

Both options provide 6 hours of training per week.

Building Bridges. Expanding Access.

STEM U Foundation is bringing Mopan Technical High School, a Government school, and St. Ignatius High School (SIHS), a Grant-Aided school, together around one shared goal: expanding access to technical education and opportunity for students.

Through this collaboration, 3rd and 4th Form students at Mopan Technical can access Welding Technology courses and certification opportunities, including specialized Welding and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) certification through STEM U Foundation and the American Welding Society (AWS).

A special thanks to the Principals, Vice Principals, and their teams for their collaboration and support in making this opportunity possible. 🇧🇿

A defining moment for Belize and the American Welding Society, bringing industry standards and workforce certifications to Belize. 🇧🇿

The American Welding Society officially engaged with key stakeholders in Belize through a high-level meet and greet led by Mr. Jarrus Mitchell of STEM U Foundation and AWS Supervisor Rolando Rodriguez.

This visit marked a major milestone with the appointment of STEM U Foundation as a prospective international agent and a prospective accredited test facility for the American Welding Society across Central America.

With the support of industry leaders and national partners, this initiative strengthens the bridge between education and employment while aligning Belize’s industry standards with the rest of the world.

Representatives from across the sector were present, including Cayo Steel Works, Reimers Service Center, Fabrigas, BNE, Midwest Steel, Chia’s Engineering Co. Ltd., the Association of Professional Engineers of Belize (APEB), APAB, and other key contributors and national leaders.

This collaboration and partnership would not have been possible without the support of St. Ignatius High School and its dedicated team.

As part of the STEM U Aviation Camp 2026 – Belize, Deep Blue Avionics had the privilege of introducing students to the foundations of flight through hands-on learning, technical exploration, and real-world application.

From understanding core aviation principles to exploring the wide range of careers that support the industry, students experienced firsthand how aviation truly works — beyond the cockpit.

Because the future of aviation doesn’t begin in the cockpit —
it begins in the classroom.
