Welcome to the official page of the Charles Arzu and Frances Arzu (CAFA) Foundation! We are a philanthropic organization founded in 2002 by the children of Charles and Frances Arzu, dedicated to honoring their memory and continuing their legacy of giving back to the community they loved. Our mission is to support and empower Garifuna students in their pursuit of a high school education at Toledo Community College in Punta Gorda, Belize. Like our parents, we firmly believe in the transformative power of education and its ability to positively impact lives, families, and entire communities. Through our foundation, we provide four-year academic scholarships to deserving Garifuna students enabling them to access quality education. The Garifuna people have a rich cultural heritage and Charles and Frances Arzu deeply understood and appreciated its importance. They believed in the inherent value of education as a means of preserving and celebrating cultural identity while fostering personal growth and professional success. It is in their honor and memory that we continue to support Garifuna students on their educational journey. By partnering with Toledo Community College, we aim to create opportunities that go beyond financial assistance. We seek to cultivate a supportive and nurturing environment where students can thrive academically, develop critical skills, and cultivate a sense of community and cultural pride. Through this page, we invite you to join us in celebrating the achievements of our scholarship recipients, sharing their inspiring stories, and staying updated on the various initiatives and events organized by the CAFA Foundation. Together, we can make a lasting impact on the lives of Garifuna students, contributing to the development and prosperity of the entire community. Thank you for your support, and we look forward to sharing our journey with you!
