On 27 July the museum hosted a tour guide training, led by Ms. Luz Hunter, Mr. Humphrey Armstrong, and members of the Crooked Tree Museum board. Twelve tour guides from Cayo and Crooked Tree spent the day in the museum learning about the museum and preparing to bring visitors to Crooked Tree.

Earlier in the month, we were honored to host the Director of the Museum of Belize, Ms. Ilona Smiling, for a visit to the museum. The board and volunteers took her and her crew on a tour, and discussed the future of the museum over a delicious lunch of Ms. Ava's stewed chicken.

In the middle of July, the Crooked Tree Museum hosted 40 visitors from the village of Laguna in Toledo, Belize. We joined together for a great conversation about the challenges and opportunities that come from building and maintaining a community museum. Past and present board members enjoyed our time with the village leadership and are looking forward to visiting their community and museum in the coming years!

The Crooked Tree Museum had some special guests earlier this month-- Ms. Belize Rural and students from Burrell Boom Methodist School. They had a tour with none other than museum board member and Village Chairman Teacher George Tillett!
