International Literacy Day is celebrated on
September 8 -9 to remind us of the beautiful power of reading and learning. Literacy gives us the ability to understand the world, express our thoughts, dream big, and create a better future. Every child and adult deserves the chance to learn, grow, and have their voices heard. Let us celebrate this day by sharing the joy of books, knowledge, and education with others. 📚 📖 💗

The 2026 NMU Education Faculty and Study Abroad students brought the joy of reading to the community with a wonderful book fair at the San Ignacio Market! 🇧🇿📖

Over 500 reading books were given out to children, carefully selected according to their ages and reading levels. What a meaningful way to encourage young readers and promote a love for learning! ❤️📚 🍎

A big thank you to everyone who helped make this event possible and to the children and families who came out to participate. Together, we’re building brighter futures, one book at a time! 🌟📖
