BELIZEAN CREATORS OF AHARI TAKE STEPS TOWARD BRAILLE EDITION, CHAMPIONING INCLUSIVE STORYTELLING
Belizean authors and producers behind the beloved children’s book Ahari are taking meaningful steps to ensure that no child is left out of the joy of storytelling.
This week marked an important milestone as the team began working toward the possibility of translating the book into Braille, making it accessible to children who are blind or visually impaired.
The initiative comes from a simple but powerful belief: accessibility matters. More than an intention, inclusion is an action.
The team met with Mrs. Carla Ayres-Musa, Executive Director of the Belize Council for the Visually Impaired (BCVI), to begin the formal process of translating the storybook into Braille.
This is inclusion.
No child gets left behind.
