Today, Thusang Bana Centre joined the community at PHUTHADIKOBO Clinic for World No To***co Day activities. We started with a health education session on the dangers of smoking and to***co use, highlighting its impact on physical and mental health.

Following the session, we have set up a service stall to provide counselling, diabetes screening, and the distribution of condoms and lubricants.

Today, Thusang Bana Centre stands in solidarity with communities, partners, and stakeholders during the Candlelight Memorial Commemoration held at Civic Hall in Lobatse to remember the lives lost to HIV & AIDS, celebrate the resilience of people living with HIV, and renew the collective commitment to ending stigma and AIDS-related deaths. This commemoration carries deep meaning to Thusang Bana Centre as an organisation dedicated to supporting PLHIV through advocacy, care, empowerment, and hope.

We highly commend BONEPWA for its remarkable leadership and continued commitment in championing the rights, voices, and wellbeing of people living with HIV, while also appreciating the National AIDS & Health Promotion Agency (NAHP) for its unwavering efforts in strengthening Botswana’s HIV response and promoting health and dignity for all.

Together, we continue to light candles of remembrance, healing, unity, and action towards a future where no one is left behind.

Thusang Bana Centre Civil Society Organisation in Molepolole was proud to participate in an engagement exercise focused on strengthening the relationship between Civil Society Organisations and Parliament. 🤝🇧🇼

The discussion gave organisations an opportunity to share views and recommendations on how civil society can better represent community voices and ensure that issues affecting people at grassroots level are heard within Parliament and national decision-making spaces.

For us as a civil society organisation, this participation reflects the importance of collaboration, advocacy, and community engagement in promoting accountability, inclusion, and positive social change. It also reminds us that when civil society organisations work together and engage with national structures, communities are empowered and their voices become part of shaping a better Botswana.

We appreciate the organisers for creating a platform that allows civil society organisations to contribute meaningfully to governance and development conversations. 🌍✨

Thusang Bana Centre continues to make a meaningful impact in the lives of adolescent girls and young women through integrated sessions focusing on HIV prevention, defilement awareness, and menstrual health education. The engagement created a safe and empowering space where participants gained critical knowledge, built confidence to speak against abuse, strengthened understanding of HIV prevention, and embraced menstrual health with dignity. The active participation and openness demonstrated the growing need for youth-friendly platforms that protect, educate, and empower young people while contributing towards healthier communities, reduced vulnerability, improved wellbeing, and informed future generations.
