Values That Guide Our Work📜

As part of our recent team training in Victoria Falls, the whole Wild-Link team participated in a collaborative values exercise to define the principles that will shape our organisational culture, leadership, and partnerships moving forward.

Rather than adopting a top-down approach, we facilitated open dialogue and collective reflection among our team members. This process led to the identification of six core values that now serve as the foundation for how we operate:

Integrity, Collaboration, Innovation, Empowerment, Empathy, and Excellence.

These values are more than guiding statements; they represent the shared commitments of our team and provide a clear ethical and operational compass for our work. They inform every aspect of our approach: from building meaningful partnerships with stakeholders, to advancing sustainable human–wildlife coexistence and delivering impactful conservation outcomes.

By grounding our growth in these collectively defined principles, Wild-Link strengthens internal cohesion, accountability, and the quality of our engagement with our partners.

Building a Shared Vision for the Future

Recently, our team convened in Victoria Falls for our inaugural annual team training. The gathering brought together team members from across our initiatives in Botswana, and through focused and interactive workshops we introduced new organisational frameworks.

Key outcomes included the review of company policies and the launch of an updated personnel framework and leadership model. All have all been designed to enhance accountability, support, and cross-regional collaboration, ensuring every team member is equipped to contribute effectively to our evolving organisational structure.

A special thank you to Shearwater Village in Victoria Falls for their warm hospitality and accommodation, to Victoria Falls Wildlife Trust for hosting an insightful REHerd site visit, and to all the Wild-Link team members.

Rethinking the Future of Coexistence

Across many rural and ecologically important landscapes, the relationship between people and wildlife is both complex and deeply interconnected.
The challenge is not whether coexistence is possible, but how it can be shaped in ways that are practical, fair, and sustainable for all.

At its core, our work is about strengthening the relationship between people and nature and creating systems where communities and all stakesholders are active participants in shaping a shared and sustainable future.

We are proud to partner with REHerd Africa, whose One Health framework supports farmers in breaking the cycle of low-investment, low-return livestock ownership.

By empowering farmers as the primary agents of positive change, this model strengthens livelihoods while promoting sustainable land stewardship.

Through the integration of traditional practices with modern, scientifically informed techniques, REHerd enables the restoration of rangelands and the production of investable, market-ready livestock products.

This partnership reflects our commitment to practical, community-centred solutions that benefit both people and the landscapes they depend on.

The Kavango Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area (KAZA TFCA) is one of the largest transfrontier conservation areas in the world, spanning across 5 countries and 520,00 square kilometres. The TFCA is also of ecological importance as it is home to a wide range of endangered wildlife species, critical wildlife corridors, diverse ecosystems, and communities that have lived alongside nature for generations.

Protecting this region requires approaches that recognise both environmental value and human wellbeing.

We believe lasting conservation success is built with communities, not around them.

By valuing local leadership, traditional knowledge, and lived experience, we support practical coexistence solutions that strengthen livelihoods while contributing to the long-term sustainability of the wider KAZA landscape.

Across many rural landscapes, people and wildlife exist in the same space and share resources.

When these relationships are unsupported, conflict can threaten both communities and conservation outcomes.

Wild-Link focuses on implementing practical coexistence models that strengthen resilience, safety, and sustainability.

Partner with us.🤝

Human-wildlife coexistence requires more than awareness alone; it requires practical solutions, trusted partnerships, and long-term investment in the communities who live alongside wildlife every day. Wild-Link is an initiative focused on creating sustainable, community-centred approaches that protect biodiversity while strengthening livelihoods and local landscapes.

Our work is rooted in collaboration, training, knowledge-sharing, and informed stewardship of natural resources. By partnering with Wild-Link, supporters and funders contribute to scalable solutions that reduce conflict, empower communities, and create healthier landscapes for future generations.

This initiative is an opportunity to invest in a model where conservation and community wellbeing work hand in hand. Together, we can help build environments where people and wildlife thrive side by side.
