Congratulations to the top 5 debaters that will be representing Botswana🇧🇼at the 2026 World Schools Debating Championships (WSDC) which will be held in Nairobi Kenya.

The World Schools Debating Championship is a global debating competition which brings together talented debaters from all over the world for the final showdown to see who are the best debaters on the globe.

A big shout out to Teemane Oratory Academy, which is the national organization responsible for managing and facilitating the selection of the WSDC Botswana National Debate Team.

Following a highly competitive round of national trials, we are proud to announce the exceptional students who have qualified for the next stage of the Botswana National Debate Team selection process.

These debaters will advance to an intensive Selection Camp scheduled to take place from 17th – 19th April 2026 where they will undergo rigorous training, assessment, and mentorship as we edge closer to final team selection. 🔥

This milestone reflects not only talent, but discipline, critical thinking, and a passion for representing Botswana on the global stage

CALLING ALL YOUNG DEBATERS!

Do you have what it takes to wear the national colors and represent Botswana on the world stage?

The WSDC Botswana National Debate Team trials will be held on 28th March 2026 at Lotsane Senior School in Palapye. This will serve as the final selection round for students seeking to be part of the team that will represent Botswana at the World Schools Debate Championship (WSDC) 2026.

The championship is scheduled to take place in Nairobi, Kenya, from 14th to 24th July 2026, and will bring together participants from over 120 countries, making it one of the most prestigious global platforms for school-level debating.

All eligible students are encouraged to register and participate in this final stage of the selection process.

Today is the day ✨✨

The wait is over. Today, Gaborone becomes the arena of ideas as the WSDC Botswana National Debate Team Trials officially kick off.

Over 300 of the country’s brightest young debaters have stepped forward… but in the end only 5 will rise to earn the honour of representing Botswana on the global stage at the World Schools Debate Championship which will be held in Nairobi, Kenya.

Arguments will clash.
Ideas will ignite.
Voices will rise.

And from this intense journey, starting today in Gaborone and continuing next week in Palapye a team of champions will emerge.

⚡ Countless brilliant arguments.
🇧🇼 Only 5 will wear the national colours.
