UNITED AGAINST GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE CAMPAIGN OFFICIALLY LAUNCHED ✨
On the 13th of August 2025, the Mogoditshane Main Kgotla became a place of hope, unity, and action as the community stood together to declare: Enough is enough!
💜 Under the theme "Turning Awareness into Action", the United Against Gender-Based Violence Campaign was launched — a year-long, community-driven movement led by 12 dedicated partner organizations and individuals committed to ending the pain, fear, and silence caused by GBV.
The Master of Ceremonies, Otshepeng Tshupo, outlined the day’s objectives, making it clear to all present that the fight against GBV cannot wait. Botswana Prisons Services also pledged their support to the coalition, offering to partner in outreach initiatives and community empowerment efforts.
In a heartfelt community session, Mogoditshane residents shared their voices, expressing gratitude for the campaign and affirming that it comes at exactly the right time to heal families, protect the vulnerable, and inspire change.
The event was graced by distinguished guests including:

🎤 Highlights from the speeches:

The coalition may be 12 organizations strong today, but the doors are wide open for more partners to join this fight. Community groups, faith-based organizations, businesses, and individuals are encouraged to come on board — because together, our impact will be greater and our voices louder.
Together, we commit to breaking the silence, ending violence, and transforming awareness into concrete action. 💪
📍 Mogoditshane is just the beginning. At the end of the year, the campaign will move to a new area, continuing the fight against GBV nationwide.
