Meet Hennie and Ineke Heymans:
We’ve reached a point in our lives where constantly chasing “more” doesn’t feel like the win anymore. Slowing things down, actually living, and doing something meaningful has started to matter a lot more. This trip is really a reflection of that shift.
For years, we’ve wanted to go back to two places that left a mark on us, the Botswana Delta and the Serengeti. They’ve always sat somewhere on the “one day” list. When we came across The Africa Rally, it suddenly felt possible to do both, but in our own way. Not as part of a convoy or tour group, but on our own steam, figuring it out as we go.
The fact that it’s a charity rally made the decision even easier. Choosing Stop Trafficking of People was natural for us. It’s a cause we already have a close connection too, so this felt like a chance to do something we care about while taking on an adventure we’ve always wanted.
Now here’s where it gets a bit more interesting.
We’re planning to take the longer, wilder route. Most likely covering a lot more distance than the standard journey, and spending time on quieter, more remote roads, some of them proper off-road. The honest truth is, we’re pretty new to this world. Recovering a vehicle, using a winch, dealing with tricky terrain, all of that will be a first for us if and when it happens.
That said, we do have a solid partner in our Jeep, Rogue Offroad. It’s from a young, energetic team we trust, and it just felt right to carry their brand as our team name and close the loop in that way.
So, this is us, stepping into something new, a bit uncertain, and very exciting.
Wish us luck and follow along starting on the 4th of July 2026, and if you can, help us raise funds for Stop Trafficking of People.

And keep an eye out, we’ve got competitions throughout the Rally and have some amazing prizes up for grabs!
