The BoYAC (Botswana United Youth Against Crime) Project was founded In Gaborone, February 2011.The founding members of BoYAC are Mooketsi Mooketsi (Mox Jr) and Evah Boemo Mosetlhane. Both have a passion for the youth and both believe that the youth are the future and the leaders of tomorrow. They realized that two main factors play a very negative role in the lives of young people... “the youth of
today”, and could impact negatively on the y...outh, namely drugs and crime. The youth are the most vulnerable section of society and the most important target for drug lords. Our community lacks facilities which include sporting and recreational facilities, to offer as an alternative for drugs and crime. Most of the youth become involved in drugs and crime because they seek excitement. Due to the lack of sporting activities and other events to keep them busy and away from these negative things, they try out drugs. Using drugs is a criminal offence, and directly leads to doing other criminal deads, such as theft, rebellious behaviour, malicious damage to property, sexual offences, and even assaults. BoYAC fills this need, by organizing sporting events and taking sports to communities where parents cannot afford to let their kids play sports, or where there is a lack of facilities, to participate in any sporting events. BoYAC also offers more for the youth, as we organise workshops for them and also other events where we make use of professional people and sponsors, to school them about drugs and the negative effect that it have on them and how it leads to criminal activities. BoYAC also organise youth camps where the youth can participate in numerous events over weekends. The biggest effort that BoYAC is striving towards is to supply the youth with a drug and crime free environment or venue for any event that we organise.......
BoYAC is a registered Non-PROFIT Organisation with Mooketsi Mooketsi as the President, Evah Boemo Mosetlhane as the ambassador (temporary) & Samuel Sebastian as the voluntary, events organiser and coordinator
