🇧🇼 Introducing the Botswana Evaluators Society (BES) 🇧🇼
A new chapter for Monitoring and Evaluation in Botswana begins today.
We are proud to introduce the Botswana Evaluators Society (BES), a professional association bringing together individuals and institutions committed to advancing Monitoring and Evaluation, evidence-based decision-making, and accountability across Botswana.
At a time when governments, organisations, and communities are striving to achieve greater impact, the ability to measure progress, learn from experience, and make informed decisions has never been more important. BES exists to support that journey.
The Botswana Evaluators Society (BES) is committed to advancing Monitoring and Evaluation, evidence-based decision-making, and accountability across Botswana. As an association officially recognised by the African Evaluation Association (AfrEA), BES seeks to build a vibrant community of professionals, researchers, students, policymakers, and development practitioners dedicated to strengthening evaluation practice and promoting excellence, integrity, and innovation. Through capacity building, collaboration, and knowledge sharing, the Society champions evidence-based decision-making, professional growth, accountability, transparency, African-rooted evaluation approaches, and national development driven by learning and measurable impact.
Our guiding philosophy is simple:
"For the People, With the People, To the People."
This is more than a slogan. It reflects our belief that meaningful development happens when people are included, heard, and empowered throughout the process.

The journey has begun.
As we continue building the foundation of BES, preparations are underway for our upcoming Committee Elections and General Meeting on 20 June 2026. This important milestone will help shape the leadership and future direction of the Society.
